Homelessness

Temporary accommodation

The housing demand, allocations and accommodation services are responsible for emergency temporary accommodation and use different types of properties, including bed-and-breakfast, hostels and bed-and-breakfast annexes as a short-term solution for homeless households and applicants.

If the council believes that you are homeless, we may offer you emergency temporary accommodation, while we make detailed enquiries into your circumstances.

The council may use different types of accommodation depending on the size of your household and any special requirements you may have. In some cases the only accommodation available may be outside of the borough, and even outside of London.

If you have any questions about temporary accommodation please contact: 020 8825 8866.

To see how we allocate temporary accommodation please read our temporary accommodation placement policy

For information on how we go about acquiring that accommodation please read our temporary accommodation acquisition policy
