Safeguarding is about making sure adults who are at risk are protected from harm and exploitation.
An adult at risk is a person aged 18 or over who is unable to protect themselves from harm or exploitation because of:
- a mental disability
- a physical disability

As well as the information provided on these pages you can find more information about protecting yourself and how to report abuse in the help to stop abuse guide.
