The next borough council elections will be held on 3 May 2018.
To vote in this election you must:
- be registered to vote. The last date to register is midnight on Tuesday 17 April 2018
- be 18 or over on the day of the election (polling day)
- be a British, Irish, Commonwealth or EU citizen
Register to vote
If you are not registered to vote, please register online www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. It takes around five minutes to register and residents will need their date of birth and national insurance number.
Voting by post or proxy
If you are unable to vote in person at your local polling station on election day you can apply for a postal or proxy vote.
The deadline to apply for a postal vote, or to amend/cancel an existing postal or proxy vote, is 5pm on Wednesday 18 April 2018.
The deadline to apply for a new proxy vote, where a voter nominates a registered eligible person to cast a vote on their behalf, is 5pm on Wednesday 25 April 2018.
