Youth offending

The Youth Justice Service (YJS) aims to prevent young people aged between 10 and 17 years from offending, and to reduce re-offending by young people already known to the police and the courts.

The service is made up of staff from staff employed by the council to provide youth justice services, and specialists from partner agencies such as the police, education, youth and connexions services, health and probation services and voluntary organisations.
