Licensing policies in Ealing

Sex Establishment Licensing Policy

From 21 February 2011 operators of premises such as lap dancing and striptease clubs will have to apply for a separate Sex Establishment licence. These premises were previously licensed under the Licensing Act 2003 as 'regulated entertainment'.

Under the new Sex Establishment licensing regime the council will have greater control over the number and location of these establishments. Local people will be able to make representations on wider grounds and have greater say. Licence holders will be required to renew their licence at least every year, at which point local people will have the opportunity to raise objections.

Sex Establishment Licensing Policy
A policy on the licensing of sex establishments has been adopted and the council will apply this policy when determining applications.

Public notice
The public notice is a statutory requirement which informs members of the public of the licence proposals.

Home Office guidance
The government has produced guidance to local authorities, operators, local people and other interested parties on the new provisions.
