Statement of Licensing Policy
The Statement of Licensing Policy is the council's policy for licensing and regulating businesses where there is the sale of alcohol, provision of regulated entertainment and late night refreshments. This generally covers businesses such as pubs, clubs, restaurants, hotels, off licenses and late night food takeaways.
The policy provides guidance for new applicants, existing licensed premises, other enforcement agencies and interested parties such as local residents and businesses that may be affected by these licensable activities. For example, local residents may be affected by noise or disturbance from licensed premises that operate at night.
The council's licensing policy must be reviewed and republished every three years.
