Online forms: Additional Information for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Applications

You must provide as much of the following evidence to support your claim as possible:

  • Your latest profit and loss account
  • Your latest balance sheet
  • Your most recent tax/Class IV National Insurance assessment
  • Your last six months’ bank statements, showing business transactions
  • Details of Class II National Insurance contributions
  • Details of VAT transactions (If appropriate)
  • Details of any payments to a private pension scheme
  • Details of any regular tips or gratuities received

You must provide this information within 1 calendar month of the date of sending your online Housing Benefit/Council Tax Support form. If you fail to provide this information your claim will be treated as defective. No Housing Benefit and or Council Tax support will be awarded.

Advice for Persons from Abroad

If your nationality is not British you should check that your Immigration status allows you to have recourse to public funds.  If you have no recourse to public funds you will not be entitled to claim Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support.
