Ealing Liveable Neighbourhood bid

This consultation will be live until 30 September 2019.

The consultation

Ealing Council is working with Urban Flow and Allies and Morrison Urban Practitioners to submit a bid for funding as part of Transport for London’s (TfL) Liveable Neighbourhoods programme.

What is a Liveable Neighbourhood?

In 2017, TfL announced £114 million of funding to improve local environments across London through the ‘Liveable Neighbourhoods’ (LN) programme. The programme provides funding for boroughs to make positive changes to streets which contribute to improved conditions for walking, cycling and public transport.

If the council is successful, Ealing town centre could receive up to £10 million to:

  • Encourage more people to walk, cycle and use public transport
  • Improve the quality of Ealing Town Centre’s streets and public places
  • Create safer neighbourhoods
  • Improve air quality and make Ealing greener
  • Create vibrant streets that help local businesses to thrive
  • Provide places for the community to come together.

More details about the Liveable Neighbourhoods programme.

The bid will be community-led, meaning the proposals will be determined by the priorities and aspirations of people who live, work and visit Ealing. We are keen to have your ideas about the key issues and opportunities in Ealing town centre, to shape the emerging vision and principles for improving the streets and spaces. The initial period of consultation is taking place until 30 September 2019 and there will be some testing of ideas following this.

The bid will be submitted to TfL in November 2019. If successful, further engagement will take place to shape the design of proposals.
