London Living Wage – proposed business rate discount scheme

Ealing Council is proud to be a London Living Wage employer and was accredited by the Living Wage Foundation in 2013. The London Living Wage is an independently set, voluntary hourly rate that reflects employees’ higher living costs in the capital. It has just been increased to £9.40 per hour. 

On Monday, 2 November the council announced its intention to offer businesses in Ealing a discount on their business rates if they also become accredited through the Living Wage Foundation. Further information about the scheme will be available later this year after it has been considered by the council’s cabinet. Businesses wishing to register their interest in the scheme should email the council at
