Freedom Pass
A Freedom Pass gives people with disabilities or visual impairments, and older people free travel on buses, underground, trains, trams and DLR services in London.
Residents aged 60 or above need to apply for a pass at a post office and not to the council.
New applicants can apply at any time.
To qualify
To qualify for a Freedom Pass you must live in this
borough and fall into one of the following categories:

be aged 60 or over (apply at your local Post Office)

blind or partially sighted
-
profoundly or severely deaf
-
unable to speak
-
have a permanent disability which substantially affects mobility - be in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (higher rate mobility component)

without arms or permanent loss of use in both arms
-
registered as having a learning disability
-
people who do not qualify for a driving licence due to an illness or disability (except where this is due to misuse of drugs or alcohol)
Documentary evidence of residence and disability must be provided to support your application.
How to apply
Residents aged 60 or over need to apply at their
local Post Office for an Older Persons Freedom Pass.
For a blind or disabled persons Freedom Pass print out and complete the Freedom Pass application form (word). Alternatively, contact us on (020) 8825 8161 if you want a form posted to you.
Post the application form with the qualifying documentation to:
