Disability benefits

There are various benefits the person you care for may be able to claim.

Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
This benefit is for people under 65 including children. To be eligible:

Attendance Allowance

Incapacity Benefit
This is a benefit for people who are disabled or too sick to work. You will get it if you have paid enough National Insurance contributions.  Please note: Employment Support Allowance replaced Incapacity Benefit for new claimants only, from 27 October 2008.  For further information visit Directgov

Carers allowance
