Sheltered housing to purchase

There are a number of housing associations that have leasehold sheltered accommodation within the borough to purchase. These properties are mainly one bedroom self-contained departments with a resident warden or manager. Applications to purchase are made to the housing association or agent. Normally you must be 60 or over to qualify and be able to purchase outright or part purchase in some schemes. Additionally there is a service charge to cover the cost of general maintenance, cleaning buildings, insurance etc. There is usually a waiting list for these properties and the association will normally contact applicants when a property becomes available.
