Acton

Ealing Council has launched a £2million regeneration scheme to revitalise the heart of Acton. By improving the town centre and making it easily accessible we aim to encourage more visitors and new investment into the town.

An initial consultation was carried out in July 2008 when the local community was given details about regeneration proposals following the study carried out as part of the Acton Town Centre Development Framework. Through this consultation we shared our ideas about how the town centre could be improved, listened to the views of the community and this is informing the development of the improvements.

Work to date
We have been working with businesses in a variety of ways including the Acton Christmas Fair and Acton Business Forum. Improvements that have already been made include new Christmas lights on Churchfield Road and town centre hanging baskets. Further work will include new paving, better signs, street lighting and grants will be available to traders for shop improvements.

Regeneration of Acton Town Hall and new community facilities: Consultation and public meeting
Residents of Acton should have received information detailing plans for the above regeneration along with an opportunity to provide views within a questionnaire. If you did not receive this you can read the following information:

The deadline for submitting your views is Friday 26 June 2009.

There will be an opportunity to discuss the proposals in detail at a public meeting and exhibition:

Date: Wednesday 17 June 2009, 6.30-8.30pm
Location: Acton Assembly Hall, Acton Town Hall, Winchester Street, W3 6NE.

Consultation on proposed Acton Town Centre improvements
We also consulted on other specific improvements including:

Summary of proposals (ppt)

A consultation document setting out the proposals was delivered to 25,000 addresses in and around Acton Town Centre. The deadline for submitting views was 8 May 2009.

The views are being analysed and the results will be considered by the council. If the council decides to go ahead with some or all of the improvements implementation is expected to take place over two years starting in Spring 2009.
