Set in the days of the Raj during the early 1920's, Opera A La Carte's staging of Mozart’s wicked send-up of sexual stereotyping is a tale of two sisters, Fiordiligi and Dorabella, whose partners test their faithfulness. Tempted by a confirmed bachelor Don Alfonso, their suitors Ferrando and Guglielmo accept his wager that their sweethearts will fall in love with anyone who happens to come along.

Since its inception in 1993 Opera a la Carte has established itself as one of the UK’s most exciting and original chamber opera companies. Its founder and artistic director, Nicholas Heath, has used his extensive musical and performing experience gained from working at the Royal Opera to create a flexible company with flair and enthusiasm that is equally at home with cabaret to full scale opera seria. Using his knowledge of the established talents and rising stars at Covent Garden and ENO the company has provoked great critical acclaim.
