Ealing Literary Festival
Friday-Sunday 10-19 July 2009
Various local venues
We’ve moved our Literary Festival indoors to keep you all warm and dry while you’re entertained by a fantastic array of authors and entertainers this year.
The children will love a visit from the classic children’s character Kipper from author Mick Inkpen, and older bookworms will enjoy talks by columnists and authors Will Self and Toby Young.
Its not all about books of course. The Literary Festival celebrates the spoken word too with Penned in the Margin Performance Poets at Acton Carnival. And for those of you who secretly prefer to look at just the pictures, there’s an illustrated local history talk, Three Bridges and the Railway marking the 150th anniversary of Brunel’s Three Bridges construction in Southall.
We ♥ books
Some of our events are admission by ticket only. We encourage you to buy your tickets in advance at either Ealing Central or Acton libraries. Entrance to Acton Carnival may only be purchased on the day at the Acton Park box office. Tickets for the Off the Page: Script Showcase at the West London Trade Union Club will be sold on the door only. Free events do not require a ticket.
