Reusable nappies
Disposable nappies are responsible for up to 4% of an average houshold bin in Ealing, approximately 3,700 tonnes per annum. This waste is expensive to dispose of and increases landfill, which contributes significantly to global warming. Modern cotton reusable nappies may be healthier for your baby, are easy to use and can save you a substantial amount of money.
Reusable nappies have many benefits:
- no need to use pins
- waterproof, comfortable and breathable nappy covers ensure no leaks
- biodegradable nappy liners can be easily flushed down the toilet
- nappies can be washed in your machine
Reusable nappies can also be significantly cheaper to use:

Free cotton nappies
Ealing Council has purchased a limited number of reusable
cotton nappies to give away free to the first Ealing residents that
contact us. You can view the nappy on the
Nappy Ever After website.
You can request a nappy by emailing customers@ealing.gov.uk with your name, address, age and approximate weight of your baby.
Please only request a nappy if you are confident you will give it a good try and will consider converting from disposables to reusables for your baby. It would be wasteful to use it only once.
