Local girls go for Olympic gold

Local hockey stars Hannah Macleod and Anne Panter, both 28, are making Ealing proud this week as they represent the country in the women’s Great Britain Olympic hockey team.
Already defeating Japan 4-0 and South Korea 5-3, the Team Ealing girls are well on their way to compete for the gold medal.

Thursday 2 August, 7pm, Great Britain v Belgium
Saturday 4 August, 4pm, Great Britain v China
Monday 6 August, 7pm, Great Britain v Netherlands
All eyes will be on the girls as they battle it out to make it through to the semi-finals, which will be played on Friday 10 August.
As members of Team Ealing, Hannah and Anne have been sponsored by the council to help with the costs of training and have acted as ambassadors to promote sport and healthy living in the borough.
