Greenford Carnival kick starts summer festival season

Greenford Carnival’s diverse line-up will kick start a lively calendar of events for this year’s Ealing Summer Festivals on Saturday, 30 June.
The family-friendly carnival will give residents and visitors the chance to experience the best in local entertainment, including music, dance, arts and crafts, sports and food from around the world.
Nine acts will make waves on the main stage, including hip hop and African rhythms fusion duo, Native Sun, Madhurang Bollywood Dance Group and inclusive rock band, I Love Thunder.
Playing original music as well as well-known favourites, bands such as Westbound Piccadilly, The Secret and Harmonica Lewinsky will take to the acoustic stage throughout the day.
The families area will come alive with Punch and Judy performances, face painting and kids craft activities, while parents can relax in the chillout zone.
Entry is £2 per adult and children under 12 are free. A family ticket is £5, which covers entry for two adults and up to three children aged between 12 and 16 years. Councillor Juilan Bell, leader of the council, said: Greenford Carnival is a fantastic way for residents and visitors to come together, enjoy themselves and celebrate their communities. With so many exciting activities and performances, this years Summer Festivals will certainly start with a bang!
Greenford Carnival will also feature a funfair, community stalls and sporting competitions.
Greenford Carnival will run from midday to 7pm at Ravenor Park, Greenford, UB6.Entry is £2 per adult and children under 12 are free.
