Scrutiny

Suggest a topic

Local people and organisations can suggest topics for future scrutiny.

To qualify, issues suggested must:

  • affect a group or community of people (scrutiny does not consider individual service complaints)
  • not have been considered by a scrutiny committee during the last 12 months

Topics are more likely to be selected for scrutiny if they are:

  • specific
  • achievable
  • likely to generate productive outcomes
  • timely and relevant
  • of public interest

Each year around January-March the scrutiny unit invites topics for possible inclusion in the work programme for the following municipal year (May-April).
