Don't waste valuable resources

Every day we throw items in the rubbish bin without realising the true value of them. Plastic, glass, food waste, garden waste, paper, textiles and even your old batteries and broken electronic equipment can be recycled and used to make brand new products.

Sending these items to rot in landfill is a massive waste of valuable resources. We need to recycle and reuse as much as we can in order to create a future where we live sustainably.

Did you know?

  • There is gold in electronic game consoles. If you recycle it when its old or broken, that gold can be used to make jewellery
  • Recycled plastic bottles can be used to make fleece clothing
  • Zinc found in mobile phones can be recycled and used in ship building
  • Asphalt in our roads is made from recycled glass
  • Recycled plastic can be used to make park benches and playground equipment
  • Precious metals and chemicals found in batteries, if recycled, can be recovered and used to make brand new batteries
  • Recycled food waste is used to generate electricity

Don’t waste valuable resources. Recycle.
