Contractors wishing to join our approved list and get the chance to compete for our contracts should follow this process:
-
Join Constructionline , the BIS-approved national register of pre-qualified contractors to the construction industry. By completing Constructionline’s pre-qualification process, contractors reduce the need to fill in pre-qualification forms for every tender and become visible to over 1,700 buyers.
-
Join CHAS , the Contractors’ Health and Safety Assessment Scheme. This doesn't apply to consultants, who we don't ask for CHAS compliance.
-
Make sure that you have got insurance cover that meets our minimum requirements. We ask for employer’s liability insurance of at least £10 million and public liability insurance of at least £5 million. Consultants also need professional indemnity insurance of at least £2m.
