On Your Marks...
On Your Marks is an exciting new three-year funded sports project, targeting adults with disabilities and additional needs who are currently inactive or lead sedentry lifestyles.
Active Ealing will run sport and physical activity days across the borough, in which individuals can take part in 3-4 hours of sport and physical activity a day as part of a healthy lifestyle. The activities will include swimming lessons, table tennis, indoor bowls and multi-sports.
There will be three activity days per week with sessions running over a 10-week period. The three weekday programmes will be open to young people within day care provision in the borough and open to organisations and groups supporting people with disabilities.
The next block of sessions will run from September- November 2014
The sessions will take place at:
- Gurnell Leisure Centre
- Northolt Leisure Centre
- Everyone Active Acton Centre

Willow Tree School Sport Partnership and Springhallow SEN school is taking a lead role across west London in the Project Ability programme. This is a national programme (sponsored by Sainsbury's) which will pioneer new and innovative ways to build capacity and develop further sporting opportunities for young people with disabilities.
As a Project Ability host site the school has been provided with funding and will support schools by:
developing and delivering bespoke Youth Sport Trust training and providing local advice and guidance to school games organisers in the borough
driving the establishment and implementation of more local competitive opportunities for all young people
sustain young people's participation beyond their involvement in competition through the development of school club activities
