Disability sport


Active Ealing runs a calendar of sports competitions for young people with disabilities attending SEN schools in the borough in partnership with the two School Sport Partnerships (SSPs). SSPs are groups of schools working together to develop PE and sport opportunities for all young people.  SEN Schools competitions include:

  • Inclusive New Age Kurling
  • Boccia
  • Athletics
  • Tri-Golf
  • Basketball

External competitions

The Balfour Beatty London Youth Game (LYG)  
Each year the London Borough of Ealing enters the LYG competitions. Young people with disabilities and special needs can compete in football, boccia, athletics and swimming against competitors from across all London boroughs.

Panathlon Challenge
The Panathlon Challenge has been benefiting young disadvantaged people since 1996 and has previously been funded by a mix of commercial sponsors, government funding and charitable trusts. Panathlon has invested over £4.5 million in opportunities for young people playing competitive sport during this time.

The events on offer provide competitive opportunities for young people with disabilities across the following  sports: Boccia, New Age Kurling, Polybat, Table Cricket, Field Athletics, Wheelchair Races, Football, Powerchair Football and swimming.
