Advice and training
The council offers free advice on winter cycling and home cycle parking for individuals and community organisations. We can help with choosing a bike and suitable clothing and equipping your bike for use in wet or night-time conditions.
The council can sometimes supply metal bike stands or wall-locking rings (depending on budget availability), but will not install them. The stands are free, while stocks last, if a need for one can be demonstrated. For companies, we can provide best practice advice on cycle parking and cycle facilities to promote cycling among staff and customers.
The council offers on-road cycle training for children and adults living in the borough.
Training in safe, confident road cycling.
Lessons are for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced commuters.
Female and male instructors will train you anywhere in the borough.
- Adults pay £5 towards the cost of their training. Training is free for unemployed residents.
To book a lesson contact Cycle Training UK on freephone 0800 093 6454 or complete their online booking form.
