Travel plans

What is a travel plan?

A travel plan is a strategic and dynamic management tool which links into your existing business systems and processes to deliver a range of benefits. It will also promote sustainable travel choices to your employees.

It covers:

  • commuter journeys
  • business travel undertaken by staff during the working day
  • visitors travelling to and from the organisation (eg meetings, conferences, courses)
  • deliveries and/or contractors calling at the organisation
  • fleet vehicles operating as a part of the organisation's activities

A successful travel plan will influence travel behaviour and achieve a shift towards increased use of sustainable transport modes (walking, cycling, public transport, car share etc.). It will also benefit your business.

The WestTrans coordinators can help with any queries you may have regarding the preparation and implementation of travel plans in West London. The co-ordinators work on behalf of the six West London boroughs (Ealing, Brent, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Hillingdon and Harrow).

WestTrans is a partnership of these boroughs. Led by Ealing Council, it works with Transport for London to identify, develop and implement transport projects to the benefit of the West London area.

The WestTrans coordinators offer direct support to organisations developing travel plans on a voluntary basis.  They also offer advice and guidance to organisations developing a travel plan as part of the planning process.

Contact the coordinators to find out what incentives and benefits your organisation can gain.
