Joint commissioning

In Ealing, commissioning is the process of:

Ealing is developing its approach to commissioning in line with Every Child Matters Agenda with the aim of moving resources into preventative services, enabling early intervention and targeting of the most specialist services at those in greatest need.

Ealing has developed its first comprehensive commissioning strategy (pdf) for children and young people providing a clear sense of direction for the planning of children and young people’s services in Ealing.

The strategy sets out how Ealing Primary Care Trust and Ealing Council resources will be used to meet the needs of children. It also identifies the areas in which different services are needed or services may need to be re–modelled and sets out the actions that will be taken to ensure that the right services are put into place.

The commissioning strategy complements the Children and Young People’s Plan.

It has been agreed at the top level, both by Ealing Councillors and the Professional Executive Committee and Trust Board of Ealing Primary Care Trust.

It will be kept under regular review, with a detailed annual report on progress.

If you have any comments or queries about the strategy, then please contact Maggie Wilson, head of children’s commissioning, tel: (020) 8825 5284 or email: WilsonM@ealing.gov.uk.
