The Albert Dane Centre is a 40-place day centre for adults aged 18 to 64 years with a physical disability and/or a sensory impairment. The building is fully adapted for the use of people with disabilities and wheelchair users.

Address: 19/21 Western Road, Southall, Middlesex UB2 5HA
Tel: (020) 8574 5074
Opening hours: Mon-Fri 9am–4.30pm

Criteria for admissions
Users must have a physical disability and/or a sensory impairment. Referrals are taken via social services care management or hospital social work teams, and from appropriate professionals such as occupational therapists and care managers. Consideration is also given to people who are physically disabled with a mild or moderate learning difficulty. Priority is given to those who face problems with daily living activities, are housebound and feel isolated within their own communities.

Services offered:

Medication
The users are encouraged to administer their own medication with minimal assistance and no medication is kept at the centre.

Assistance with personal care
Assistance with personal care is provided i.e. help with eating and toileting, although this is a limited service and dependent upon staffing ratios. Help can be offered to users who are incontinent (i.e. help with pads and emptying catheters), but we do not have the resources to deal with intractable incontinence or with the treatment of incontinence.

For further information or to view the centre please contact either the manager or deputy manager on (020) 8574 5074 during office hours.
