Sports equality is about fairness in sport, equality of access,
recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them. It is
about changing the culture and structure of sport to ensure that it
becomes equally accessible to all members of society, whatever
their age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality or
socio-economic status.
Equality Standard for Sport
The Equality Standard for Sport gives guidance about how to
increase the participation in sports and physical activity by under
represented people - especially women and girls, ethnic minority
groups and disabled people. It gives information on sport and
leisure opportunities for people with disabilities. The
Equality Standard for Sport website also has
details of the numerous coach education courses available covering
sports equality.

Sporting Equals
Sporting Equals is a national initiative to promote racial
equality in sport throughout England. It is a partnership between
Sport England and the Commission for Racial Equality and provides a
wide range of information about racial equality in sport.
Kick It Out
Kick It Out gives information about projects and schemes
which aim to reduce racism in football. It also gives details of
funding which available for projects which support this aim.
Women's Sports
Foundation (WSF)
The WSF works to improve and promote opportunities for women
and girls to participate in sport in the UK at every level.
Disability discrimination legislation
Since 2004, sports clubs have been legally obliged to make
reasonable adjustments to their premises so that people with a
disability can use their facilities. More information is available
