problems and their solution during performing Hajj and Umrah, with
a talk by Muhammad A. Hassan, author of "Guide for Hajj and Umrah",
who has completed 5 Hajj and Umrah, followed with a question and
answer session in Urdu or English. The Hajj is the Islamic
pilgrimage to Makkah, and Umrah is an Islamic act of worship.

Sandra Hempel

Sandra Hempel talks about her award-winning book, The
Medical Detective. Written in the style of a Victorian
thriller and based on first-hand accounts, it tells the story
of the fight against the deadly disease cholera, which swept across
Britain in the 19th century. John Snow, a reclusive doctor, worked
out how the disease was spreading and how to prevent it, but his
ideas were so revolutionary for his time that he was ridiculed and
100,000 people died.
