We have achieved the
Investors in People accreditation in three departments and
are committed to achieving the standard council-wide by 2003. This
is a national standard which sets a level of good practice for
training and development of people to achieve business goals.
IT courses
To help our employees keep up to date with the latest
technology we run a programme of IT courses throughout the year
including: word, access, powerpoint and excel. You can also learn
online at your own pace and at a time to suit you.
Induction
All new employees will complete a comprehensive induction
programme, which will include a corporate induction training day.
Departmental
Each department organises short courses and qualification
courses to meet the development needs of their staff and to ensure
they have the skills to carry out their job effectively.
Corporate
Corporate training is provided to all employees on a range of
topics including recruitment and selection, coaching skills, health
and safety, race relations and equality.
We accept that learning is a continuous process and encourage
our employees to take part in further training. We review the
courses regularly to ensure they meet the needs of the individual
and the organisation.
