Types of sheltered housing

In the description of the flats, a one-bedroom flat is a self-contained flat with a living room, one bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. A studio flat is smaller and self-contained with a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom-cum-living room. There are only two two-bedroom flats in one of the sheltered housing schemes.

The schemes described as sheltered housing have the following features:

These schemes vary in age, design and the facilities they have, eg some do not have lifts or communal facilities.

There is a long waiting list for most schemes and when your name is added to a waiting list it does, unfortunately, not mean that an offer will definitely be made. You have a shorter wait if you are prepared to widen your choices and accept a property in any location.

Sheltered housing is a local service provided from three area officers, in Northolt, Ealing and Acton. This is to ensure that we can develop links with the local community and respond quickly to calls for assistance.
