Tenancy rights
Your rights as a tenant will depend on the type of tenancy you have and when you moved into the property:
Assured shorthold tenancies
After 28 February 1997 or between 15 January 1989 and 28
February 1997 if your landlord gave you a notice at the start
of your tenancy stating you were an assured shorthold tenant.
Assured tenancies
Between 15 January 1989 and 28 February 1997
Regulated tenancies
Before 15 January 1989
