What help can I get if I am homeless?
Being homeless does not give you the right to a permanent
council property. All offers of council accommodation and
nominations to housing associations have to be made from the
council's housing register. Housing advice or the homeless persons
team will advise you on
applying and the wait for permanent
accommodation. There is strict criteria which determine whether you
are eligible to join the housing register and what priority your
application will have.
