Your street may not have been swept due to adverse weather conditions or a bank holiday. It should be cleaned within three days.

We have a lot of leaves in the road and on the footpath outside our house. Can they be cleared?
Yes. During autumn(September to early November), extra street cleansing staff are brought in to clear away fallen leaves.  The rest of the year, streets are cleaned on a weekly basis, as normal.

I have just seen a road sweeper go down my road but he didn't clean it, why not?
Road sweepers ensure the roads are cleaned to standards set by the Environment Protection Act. If the street is cleaned to this standard, the road sweeper will move on. All streets are given a deep cleanse once a month.

What should I do if I see drugs or personal hygiene rubbish dumped or dropped in the street?

Mechanical road sweepers work in conjunction with street cleansers on foot to keep roads in Ealing clean, and maintain the cleanliness standards set by the Environment Protection Act.  All streets are given a deep clean by road sweepers once a month.

Litter collected by street cleaners on foot should not remain bagged and on the street for longer than 24 hours.
