do I obtain a permit to deposit a skip on

normally processed within 24 hours.

I allowed to place a skip on the pavement?
No, except by special permission from an inspector
who is satisfied there is no danger to pedestrians or risk of
damage to the footway.
Are
there things I should not put in the skip?
To comply with environmental legislation you should not
put asbestos, batteries, tyres and fridge freezers, chemicals and
paint inside a skip.
Where
can my skip be dropped?
Skips can be dropped on private property such as your drive
or on the road outside your house. Skips can also be dropped at
businesses, offices or factories.
How
long is a skip allowed to remain on the
highway?
Skip licences are issued for a period of one calendar month
from the date specified on it and can remain on the highway
provided it complies with the conditions.
How long
can a full skip stay on the highway?
It must be removed within two days. If you know who

Are
transport containers allowed on the highway?
No, transport containers are not allowed because of
their size.
What
are the loading requirements for skips?
You should ensure that the waste is not higher than the
skip and it is secure and safe.
Can
you tell me who owns a skip?
Most skip hire companies will have the details of the
owner's name and telephone number on the skip. If the skip is
