Entertainment and licensing

Upon receipt of a music and dancing licence application, the licensing team consult pollution control for their comments on the proposal; any comments will be incorporated into the licence conditions.

Pollution control officers work with the department's licensing team when complaints are received about public entertainment events. Visits are made to establish that the licence conditions have been adhered to.

Pollution control officers may be required to attend the council's licensing panel which considers applications for potentially disturbing events.
