How to make a complaint

Please be ready to give the following information:
• your name, address, telephone number
• the address or site where the noise is coming from
• the type of noise, when and how long the noise occurs
• the way the noise affects you, where, when and under what
circumstances it can be heard
• any action you have taken to try to deal with the
problem.
Report a noise nuisance online
If your complaint is outside of normal office hours
A late night noise service operates on Friday and Saturday
nights (11pm-4pm), tel: (020) 8825 5000. The duty officer will aim
to contact you to give advice, and may make arrangements to visit
you at home to assess the nuisance. If appropriate, action will be
taken immediately, but if back-up and specialist equipment are not
available and/or the incident is of a less serious nature, action
may be held over until the next working day. Your complaint will
initially be taken and logged. If a nuisance officer is available,
you will be put in direct contact with them, otherwise you will be
contacted within three working days. The officer dealing with your
complaint will advise you of the action to be taken. If the
nuisance is occurring at the time of your call, he/she will
endeavour to arrange a visit to assess the nuisance
Aircraft noise
Complaints about aircraft noise resulting from operations at
particular airports or aerodromes should be directed to the airport
or aerodrome operator concerned. See the
Civil Aviation Authority website for more

BAA operates a noise information line on 0800 344844, if the complaint is specific enough, the BAA representative should be able to advise whether the aircraft exceeded the government noise limit and whether it was along the pemitted route.
The local community action group ENAG (Ealing Aircraft Noise Action Group) can be contacted on (020) 8997 8876, or at 45 Drayton Gardens, W13. Furthermore, a London-wide aircraft noise pressure group HACAN Clearskies is available on 8876 0455 or at their website on www.hacan.org.uk.

Asbestos
Ealing residents can take their own household asbestos
cement to: West Waste Civil Amenity Site, Victoria Road, South

The Corporation of London provides a free service for the collection of limited amounts of household asbestos in the London area.
