Treatments and charges

Pest control treatments are available to residents in privately owned residential property and  Ealing Homes properties. The service is also provided to commercial premises - please contact the pest control team to arrange an appointment for a survey and quotation. Mice

Bedbugs

Revisits requested within one calendar month will at a charge of £15 per room.

The pest control officer will provide on-site advice regarding children and pet safety together with general housekeeping advice. We carry out bed bug treatments in domestic properties only.

The treatment consists of spraying an insecticide which works rapidly and kills most insects on contact. It will continue to work for up to two months.

It is recommended that you vacuum all carpets before the treatment and avoid vacuuming again for at least two weeks.

Wasps

£40 for first nest and £20 for additional nests (if the nests are close together)

 

The pest control officer will try and arrange a morning or an afternoon visit, but cannot arrange specific times and will not carry out any building works in order to gain access to the nest. The officer will provide on-site advice regarding children and pet safety together with general housekeeping advice.

Please note: old nests will not be removed as they will not be occupied in subsequent years.

Fleas

The pest control officer are likely to provide an insecticide spray treatment to get rid of fleas. They will also provide onsite advice regarding children and pet safety together with general housekeeping advice. Ealing Council will only treat fleas in domestic properties. This includes all domestic living accommodation and garages.

Before treatment residents should:
•  hoover anywhere the pests are likely to have been and then safely dispose of the hoover bag
•  remove all objects from the floor and disconnect electrical equipment
•  ensure anyone who suffers from asthma, animals, fish and children are not in the property at the time of treatment
•  treat any cats and dogs for fleas and wash their bedding in hot water or destroy bedding 
•  ensure that foodstuffs and sensitive materials are stored safely away from the treatment area(s).

After treatment residents should:
•  ensure that children do not crawl over treated floors or lick treated surfaces
• wash any bare skin that has come into contact with treated surfaces
•  only vacuum 10-14 days after treatment
•  keep children, pets, asthma sufferers out of the treated rooms until the treated areas are dry - normally a few hours.
