Ranger service

The rangers care for the borough's parks, open spaces and nature conservation areas. They provide a vital link between the public and the Council. There are ranger bases located at Acton Park Lodge, Brent Lodge Park Visitor Centre, Manor House Grounds and Horsenden Farm. Each team is headed by a senior ranger and supported by six rangers. Their green fleeces and purple tops easily identify them.

The rangers spend about half their time patrolling the parks. This involves checking play equipment, park furniture and landscaping so that any problems can be dealt with quickly. The rangers also deal with incidences where by-laws may have been broken. Members of the public are welcome to talk to the rangers about issues relating to or getting involved in the parks.

If you would like to find out more about their work, please contact the nearest ranger base to you. Next time you're in a park come and introduce yourself to a ranger who will be delighted to speak to you.
