Dangerous structures

The building control team have the authority to take appropriate action when a structure poses a potential safety risk. A Dangerous Structure Notice may be served under Part VII of The London Building Act (Amendment) 1939. We have powers to require the owners to remedy the defects or direct our contractors to carry out works to make the building or structure safe.

Reporting a dangerous structure
To report a dangerous structure during office hours, 8am-5pm, contact the call centre, admin enquiries or the area surveying teams. Outside of office hours, please call: (020) 8825 5000.
