Prospectus information
Dormers Wells Infant School celebrated its 50th year in 2004, and continues to welcome families from around the world. We celebrate our multicultural ethos. We have experienced staff and are a successful school set in a lovely environment. Each class is equipped with computers and interactive whiteboards, and we have a pupil computer suite where children concentrate on additional English and maths. Parents are also able to access learning on our site.
Ethos and values
We believe education is a life-long process and we
aim to help all children achieve their full potential in a happy
and caring environment where each individual is valued and
respected. We strive to maintain a balance between formal education
and a wider curriculum and place emphasis on good behaviour and
respect for all members of the school community. Parents are
encouraged to participate in the life of the school.
Summary of special educational needs policy
The school’s policy for special educational needs fully
embraces the principles of the new code of practice. We have a very
experienced special needs co-ordinator and all staff help support
children with special needs. We also work in partnership with the
school educational psychologist who helps assess individual pupils
where necessary.
