Elthorne Park High School
Elthorne High School prospectus information
Elthorne Park High School is a popular mixed comprehensive school set in the west of Ealing which has established a record of excellent academic achievement and a friendly caring environment. From September 2009 the school is designated 11-19 and from this year will be offering students the opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate as a major part of our post 16 curriculum offer. At the last inspection in 2004, Ofsted confirmed that the school, which opened in 1998, has established itself well and provides well for its students.
Pupil progress
The school tracks the progress of all students from
primary school to the end of year 13. Data collected is regularly
analysed and is used to assist staff in supporting students
appropriately.
Students at the school are currently achieving above both the Ealing and national average at KS4 and the school is particularly proud of the percentage of 5A*-Cs including English and Maths achieved by students.
Individual achievement
At Elthorne Park High School we aim for the highest possible
standards to ensure all students achieve their personal best. We
therefore review our curriculum on a regular basis to ensure we
meet the needs of all students.
Information and communications technology
The school takes great pride in its extensive and modern ICT
facilities, which enhance learning and teaching throughout every
subject area. Each classroom has a computer and interactive
whiteboard and there are six computer suites each equipped with 30
computers.
Inclusion
The school’s ethos is one of encouraging individual
achievement and to this end provision is made according to the
needs of individual students. High attaining students are given
extension work within lesson time and lower attainers are supported
through our intervention programme. In addition we have a team of
highly experienced teaching assistants who support teaching in all
subjects.
Partnership
We believe that our popularity is partly the result
of working in partnership with parents, the local community, local
business, schools and colleges and that these close associations
help us to provide the best possible educational experience for all
students.
