Checklist for parents

The following are things you need to remember to do in order to be sure that your application is completed correctly. Please make sure that you:

  1. Visit your preferred schools and talk to teachers before applying
  2. Speak to staff in schools admission service or your preferred school to clarify any issues
  3. Read Ealing’s prospectus (pdf) and the individual school’s prospectus so that you understand the application process
  4. Read the criteria for your preferred school to see if your child is likely to be offered a place
  5. Only apply for Ealing state-maintained schools through Ealing Council
  6. If you live in another borough and are applying for Ealing schools, apply for at least one school through your home authority, as it may not be possible to offer you a place at one of your preferred Ealing schools
  7. Apply directly to any private or independent schools you are considering

How to apply

  1. Apply online or complete a paper application (pdf)
  2. Decide on three schools where your child has a realistic chance of being offered a place
  3. Complete and return an additional information form for any voluntary-aided school/s for which you have expressed a preference by the closing date of 5 December 2008
  4. Enclose proof of date of birth and address with your application form or send separately if applying online
  5. If you are claiming exceptional medical/social circumstances attach supporting documentation to your application form or send separately if applying online
  6. Remember to sign and date the form
  7. Return your form to your preferred primary school by the closing date of 5 December 2008
