The admissions staff deal with all applications for secondary transfer (11+) to community schools and will be happy to help you. If you require advice and information it is strongly recommended that you seek this early in the process rather than leaving your enquiry until later.
Correspondence from the authority will be addressed to parents at the address of the child. It may be, however, that parents are separated or divorced. If the authority is made aware of this then correspondence will be addressed to the parent making the application. The other parent may also retain rights over the directions of a child’s education and the authority will assume that any application for admission to, or change of, school is the result of agreement between both parents. The parent signing the application form is therefore requested to consult with, and obtain agreement of, the other parent before completing the form.
Where parents have shared responsibility and their child lives part of the week with each parent, the parents must come to an agreement as to whose address will be used for the application. Proof of residency will be required.
