Community learning
Community learning offers free courses that aim to build people’s skills to give them opportunities which:
- improve their chances of getting onto courses to gain a qualification
- improve their ability to get employment
- improve community cohesion
Community learning courses are completely separate from adult leisure courses, which are fee-paying.
Some of the courses community learning can offer are:
- English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
- numeracy
- employment skills
Some courses have additional skills attached to them such as information technology.
