Ealing’s Strategy for Older People 2004/2007 (All our futures)

This joint strategy is the result of consultation and work by the council and its health and voluntary sector partners with older people and carers to find out what they needed and what was important to them. It has established the direction for the future planning and development of services for older people through an agreed vision.

The council and health services realised that they needed to look at the way they provide services in a new way and adopt a change in approach. Older people said they wanted to be able to access services, which would enable them to live their lives with dignity. We have drawn together a shared vision, principles and objectives, which will be fundamental to successfully improving services to older people in Ealing. We have taken into account national and local aims to promote independence, wherever possible providing services to people in the community and helping people remain in their own homes.

The vision is to "To make Ealing a safe, healthy and enjoyable place to live for older people through the promotion of independence."
