All directorates within the council have responsibility for producing a three-year strategic business plan showing their key areas of activities that contribute to the overall council corporate plan. Business plans are key to explaining how directorate areas will deliver the council’s strategic priorities in the period 2008/9 to 2010/11, and for providing the crucial links between the key objectives of the corporate plan and those within individual service, team and employee plans. These plans will be used by directorates to monitor their progress and achievements against the activities in the three-year plan, ensuring that activities are delivered and targets are on track.
