Local Area Agreement
The Ealing Local Area Agreement came into effect 1 April 2007 and will run until 31 March 2010.
Ealing Local Area Agreement 2008-11 (word)
There are about 110 measures across four areas; children and young people, healthier communities and older people, safer and stronger communities and economic development and enterprise.
Fourteen of the measures are stretch targets. If these targets are met we will receive a performance reward grant of up to ten million.
Our stretch targets include;

improving the educational achievement of white working class boys and African & Caribbean boys at KS3 in English, Maths and Science

reducing the percentage of 16-18 year olds not in education, employment or training
-
increasing the percentage of Looked After Children in education, employment & training
-
increasing the number of young people (aged 16-24) achieving a recognised work-based qualification as part of an apprenticeship via Ealing Council’s Apprenticeship Brokerage Scheme
-
increasing the percentage vaccination coverage of diphtheria, tetanus and polio and of BCG at age 12 months
-
reducing the percentage of young offenders who re-offend
-
improving the percentage tuberculosis Treatment Completion Rate (TCR) and a reduction in the spread of TB. Measured by an increase in the proportion of people completing contact tracing treatment.

increasing the number of four week smoking quitters from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities

reducing the number of emergency admissions related to cardiac, vascular and respiratory illness (HRG Chapter codes D, E, Q)

increase the income levels of older people by increasing and maximising the take up of benefit entitlement

increasing the SAP rating of local authority dwellings

increasing the number of volunteers

improving street cleanliness

increasing the amount of composting or recycling

reducing the number of motor vehicle related thefts

increasing the number of drug users achieving a recognised training accreditation or educational qualification

increasing the number of domestic violence incidents reported annually, and the proportion that result in sanction detections
