Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 was passed on 30 November 2000. It gives a general right to see recorded information held by public authorities, subject to a number of exemptions.

Ealing Council has two main responsibilities under the Act:

Publication scheme

The Publication Scheme must specify the classes of information the authority publishes, how they will be published and whether there is a charge for the information.

Environmental Information Regulations

Specific regulations about accessing environmental information.

Requests for information

How to make a request for information under the Freedom of information Act.

Charges

The costs for providing information.

Making a complaint or appeal

If you want to complain about the way we have handled a request for information, or if you want to appeal against a decision we have made.
