Cabinet
The cabinet has ten members, including the council leader, Jason Stacey, and the deputy leader Councillor Ian Gibb. Each member has a specific area of responsibility (also known as a portfolio) and is accountable for the council's everyday decision-making process.
The role and responsibility of a cabinet member include:

initiating policy

making decisions and implementing council policies within their portfolio

acting as spokesperson for the council on services and functions within their portfolio

being a member of cabinet and sharing the collective responsibility for decisions taken by the cabinet

developing partnership working with other organisations in the borough

Council leader Jason Stacey: chairman of the cabinet with overall responsibility for it. Other specific responsibilities include neighbourhood governance, community cohesion and emergency planning

Councillor Ian Gibb: Deputy Leader and portfolio holder for Children’s Services - includes schools, child protection and fostering and adoption

Councillor Mark Reen: Adults Services and Health - includes health promotion, promoting independence, disabilities, safeguarding adults

Councillor Phil Taylor: Customer and Community Services – includes benefits service, parking services, libraries, events and parks

Councillor Sue Emment: Environment and Street Services - includes refuse/recycling/waste disposal, street cleansing and envirocrime enforcement

Councillor David Scott: Finance and Performance – includes budget, council tax and performance and risk management

Councillor Will Brooks: Housing - includes
housing allocations, homeless persons and estate
regeneration strategy
Councillor David Millican: Regeneration and Transport – includes community development, road maintenance and road safety, traffic and congestion and public transport - Councillor Wolodymyr Barchuk: Safer Communities - includes anti-social behaviour, drugs, CCTV and licensing
