About us
Ealing Council share the enforcement responsibility for work premises the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the allocation is governed by the Health and Safety (Enforcing Authority) Regulations 1998. The legal requirements are principally prescribed by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and its associated legislations, regulations and codes of practice.
The team is responsible for:
- health and safety inspections
- providing advice and guidance, in addition to responding to service requests
- accepting and logging statutory reports and accident notifications
- investigating certain categories of accidents and dangerous occurrences
- launching campaigns to raise public awareness of important issues
- exercising enforcement options
